Wedding Season - Guest of Honor

He simply felt that if he could carry away the vision of the spot of earth she walked on, and the way the sky and sea enclosed it, the rest of the world might seem less empty.
— Edith Wharton, The Age of Innocence

Whether the nuptials are in the middle of spring or nestled neatly in the height of summer - it's time to start thinking. Wedding fashion has become progressively open-minded with very little in the way of a wedding guest outfit rulebook. Allow me to state the obvs:

  • Leave the white to the bride. Please and thank you.
  • Anything that outshines the bride, wear another day. So fewer sequins or highlighter yellow. Don't worry, this breaks my heart too.
  • Don't go against the invitation's dress code. At least don't be that ONE guy who breaks the dress code.
  • Save your t-shirt and your favorite ripped jeans. If you do wear this, you are a fierce savage and I want to sit at your table.

Other than obvious guidelines, there is relative freedom when it comes to putting together a wedding guest look. I chose a regal, goddess-inspired outfit from the Hayley Hasselhoff for Elvi collab available for purchase at navabi. This timeless coat is perfect for layering especially for a traditional church ceremony. It's dramatic long length yet subtle lapel construction is the most luxe topper I've ever owned. This coat runs large so I ordered a size down with the intentions of a more fitted look that I am so happy with. For the reception dinner, I would easily wear this outfit without the coat to show-off this amazing chiffon dress also from Hayley Hasselhoff for Elvi collab exclusively sold at navabi. Don't hate me because this dress is currently sold out, but be sure to check-out gorgeous dress options from navabi. In fact, this particular dress by Lost Ink would look glorious with this coat!

Walking down the aisle is the most epic, most photographed, most significant brief walk of a woman's life. All eyes are on the bride but I personally find myself with locked eyes on the groom. It is a beautiful thing when you see a man completely engulfed by his queen. It's a gentle reminder to say I do to someone who would treat and love me like a groom in complete adoration of his bride walking down the aisle. Until that time, I'll be right here looking cute with this outfit next to the cake table! Thanks for riding along my loves and I hope this Wedding Season lookbook have inspired outfit ideas for your busy social calendar.
