Travel Photo Journal: Colorado 2/18

May we live for many winters. Keepin’ each other warm.
— Flannel, Man of the Woods Album by Justin Timberlake

I was sure of what I wanted for this year's birthday and it was a wish of adventure and nature. My wish came true with a birthday trip to Colorado Springs and a quick stop to Denver, Colorado. This trip was exactly what I needed, falling in love with another city rich with pristine mountain views, laid-back locals, and a friendly, small-town personality. Below are snaps of my trip that I am so happy to share with you.

The Broadmoor area is an old neighborhood in Colorado Springs, at the foot of Cheyenne Mountain. A neighborhood known for custom homes, beautiful scenery, luxurious living, and opulent history. Much of Broadmoor's history is centered around The Broadmoor Hotel; the historic Forbes Five-Star resort that was built in the early 20th century with stunning Old World-style decor. Located less than a mile from The Broadmoor is Broadmoor's Seven Falls resulting as one of Colorado's most captivating wonders. Situated in a canyon is a series of waterfalls that is truly breath-taking and just what I needed to start my birthday weekend.

The historic Manitou Springs is located at the foot of Pikes Peak and is known for its vibrant artisan community and mountain landscapes. The Ute, Cheyenne and other Native Americans considered this area sacred for its healing springs and clean mountain air. Photos below are taken from Manitou Spring's breathtaking scenery and Cave of the Winds where I took an eerie and mysterious trip to an underground world.

Downtown Colorado Springs is definitely a small-town feel but with city-life amenities. No crowds, no lines, and definitely no reservations necessary. Click on the photos below for details of my favorite spots I found in Downtown Colorado Springs.

A registered National Natural Landmark, Garden of the Gods is a dramatic display of red rock formations. I was so inspired by this geologic wonder making my birthday trip so special. Exploring this park filled my soul with fascination, awe, and gratefulness.

Easily THE reason why I chose Colorado Springs for my birthday trip this year is because of the Garden of the Gods Collection Resort's infinity pool. Check-out their infinity pool's backdrop that made all my birthday wishes come true and more! A resort boasting of spectacular views of the Garden of the Gods and Pikes Peak, this resort is a class act. The Spa at Garden of the Gods Collection is of course my favorite with every inch being a place of peace and tranquility. Professional and accommodating staff, the most amazing Himalayan Salt room, and a lounge room that had me sleeping like a newborn baby, I walked out of the spa feeling like a brand new person. A special thanks to the resort for amazing accommodations for making my birthday trip so incredible.

Below are some photos of a day and a half in Denver, Colorado. The goal was to visit Red Rocks Open Amphitheater and Denver's dope neighborhood, Five Points. Click on the photos below for details of places I ventured into.

I am already planning for a Spring or Summer trip in the near future in hopes to see more of Colorado's sacred landscapes. Colorado was a beautiful chill if that's even a thing. It was an average of 45 degrees yet clear and sunny throughout my stay but you best believe that it dropped to 20 degrees at night. As I look back through these photos, I can't help but be thankful for the person that kept my hands and heart warm throughout this trip. These sights wouldn't mean anything without you, Vavez. Sending so much love to our life partners that make our adventures and another year worthwhile.
