Casual in Cincy

Gather everyone, gather all together
Overlooking none, hopin´ life gets better for the world.
— Harvest of the World, Harvest of the World Album by The Isley Brothers

What do you pack for a trip that will have you questioning if you were really there at all? I had a quick trip to hip and happenin’ Cincinnati, Ohio last weekend and I had to reach for comfortable pieces to help with the 3-hour time difference that had me quite frenzied and warm pieces to help with the Midwest Autumn chill.

Gray Everything

I literally had less than 6 hours to hit up Over the Rhine in Cincy so I knew I needed no-fuss sneakers and had no time for waist-clenching jeans! I resorted to an easy, soft gray dress and layered with my absolute fave sweater cardigan and scarf of the season. You can never go wrong with layering color matching pieces for a casual monochromatic look.

If you are in a pinch, below are 3 places that are a MUST in OTR Cincy:

1. The Eagle - fried freakin chicken of the gods. Go thither.
2. Holtman’s Donut Shop - A beloved Ohio local donut shop right next door to The Eagle in OTR. They have the best maple bacon donut. You’re welcome.
3. Drees Pavillion - a beautiful overlook 10 minutes away from OTR. A popular wedding venue, this overlook is open to public featuring breathtaking views of the city.

Jogger Set Love

When in doubt, wear a jogger set. I scored this set on Asos on sale (YASS) and discovered the South Beach line which is a quality yet super cute activewear. I wore this ultra comfy set for the airport and straight to downtown Cincy to catch some sights of the Ohio river and the Newport Bridge- popularly known as the Purple People Bridge.

And check-out this dooopppee jean jacket from the Asos Men line! Who says we can’t wear boys clothing? Does anyone turn into a boy during cold months? Guilty! Sweats and oversized everything for me.

Happy Friday, Bebots! It is sooo good to be back home. Catch me lounging on the couch all weekend long and watching Hocus Pocus on repeat. I’ll maybe go out for some Friendly 5-dollar-burgers. What are you up to this weekend? And please don’t forget. Register to vote this weekend because as the native, iconic Cincy Isley Brothers wisely sang, we need to gather all together for a better world!
