Just Get Ready

If you can’t fly then run, if you can’t run then walk, if you can’t walk then crawl, but whatever you do you have to keep moving forward.
— Martin Luther King Jr.

I hiked for the first time in 3 months this past Saturday and my body screamed HOW RUDE the following morning. Church and important errands were the agenda for Sunday and I knew I had a hottie ready to pick me up and a girlfriend in town I have been dying to hug. I took a hot shower as an apology to my aching muscles, sprayed half a can of dry shampoo on my hair, and turned on my "Slay" playlist. With eyes fixed on my closet, I whispered, "You know what time it is."

Tucked away in my dresser was this gray sweater set that I am stoked to have purchased for my Fall/Winter wardrobe. January is when a lot of my girlfriends are ready to revamp their closets with floral prints, lighter jackets, and short sleeves but not me! San Diego only has 3 and half days of fall weather and about 2 days of the winter chill so I milk my fall/winter wardrobe as much as I can.

When dry shampoo does not cut it, a dope hat is a faithful friend. Paired this Mana Pono hat with a little urban vibe of a camo jacket and fun but comfortable heels. Statement earrings and my favorite perfume to seal the deal instantly cheered up my sore body and tired spirit.

Sunday turned out to be a very productive day after all when in reality, all I wanted to do was stay in bed and punish my body with negative thoughts of how out of shape it has been. It's amazing what happens when you decide to take the first step of showing up and just get ready. Of course, a pleasing outfit also helps.
